On August 16th at 6:30 pm, Join us! For a two hour orientation to learn more about our Indigenous led initiative Turtle Protectors based in High Park. This is an opportunity for all volunteers to learn about the Indigenous teachings that guide the work to be in good relationship with all kin and how we differ from other turtle protector programs.
This orientation will also include:
- How to educate the public about the program
- Common threats
- Monitoring and maintenance of nest protectors
- Installation and removal of nest protectors and release of hatchlings
- Overview of admin tasks
- Key Learnings & updates
- Save the date Public Event & Volunteer Appreciation: September 25th 1pm to 3pm in the park
Carolynne Crawley, co-founder of Turtle Protectors and founder of Msit No’kmaq will lead this session. Pizza and light snacks will be served.
