Join the discussion on moving freshwater turtle conservation in Canada from knowledge to action.

This virtual workshop will open with an overview of the state of turtle conservation in Canada, examining the opportunities and challenges in translating scientific knowledge into meaningful conservation outcomes. We will also introduce the Atlas of Turtle Genomes for Conservation, a collaborative genetic resource that will support the repatriation of confiscated turtles and invite opportunities for collaboration.

We will then turn to small-group discussion to explore the practical challenges facing turtle conservation across Canada:

• Where is conservation getting stuck?
  

• What are the biggest gaps between knowledge and implementation?
  

• What needs to happen next?
  

• Who will take responsibility for turning priorities into action?

This workshop is open to all, and we welcome participants with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience. Join us to share perspectives, identify barriers, and help shape priorities for advancing turtle conservation in Canada.
