Important Updates: Parade, Signal App, Mentor Orientation

I hope you all are having a good start to your day!

I want to provide a few important updates.

Turtles on the Move Parade

Jenny spoke with our parade guests (Red Pepper Spectacle, Clay and Paper, and Maracatu) this week.  It was decided that the parade will proceed rain or shine.  If there is steady rainfall the drummers/signers, puppets and Maracatu will be on the covered veranda at the High Park Nature Centre. Please dress appropriately for the weather.  It will be chilly and wet.

We are asking volunteers to arrive for the parade at 1:30pm.  Since it will be too cold to wear only a t-shirt/tank top, we want volunteers to wear our vests.  They will be signed out and must be returned at the end of the parade. Meet at

Please download the Signal Private Messenger app if you haven't yet.  I can only add you to the group if you are on the app.  Adding over 200 people takes time.  So if you have downloaded it, I hope to have you on board by next week.

Connecting with a Mentor for Orientation

Since I am having trouble keeping up with emails, new volunteers should text the Hotline to ask for the Mentors' phone number of the Mentor whose shift you have signed up for.
