National Truth and Reconciliation Walk - High Park
Please join us on our National Truth and Reconciliation Walk, where you will learn about Indigenous ways of being in respectful relationship with Mother Earth.
We will also speak about the colonial impacts upon the land and the need for reconcili-action as the lands, waters, and all beings continue to be harmed.

We are soon approaching the nesting season (late May to the end of July). We are recruiting new volunteers to work from late May until end of October.
If you can commit three hours per week, please join one of our online Information Sessions to learn more about volunteer responsibilities.

2026 Turtles on the Move Parade
Join us for our 3rd Annual Turtles on the Move Parade on Saturday April 25, 2026 from 2-4pm.
The parade starts at the High Park main entrance near High Park TTC Station.
Join Turtle Protectors and our neighbours and supporters for a parade through High Park to raise awareness about preventing turtle deaths on Ontario roads. We will be walking with turtle puppets as a reminder for us all to slow down, look for turtles and to help them cross roads in their direction of travel if it is safe to do so.
This year the parade will feature puppets from Shadowland Theatre, Clay & Paper Theatre, Red Pepper Spectacle Arts, and Sun Raven Arts. We will also have music from Indigenous Singers and Drummers and Maracatu Mar Aberto.
Our friends from the Toronto Wildlife Centre will join too, their role in caring for turtles struck by vehicles is critical to supporting local turtle populations.
All are welcome! Bring a homemade turtle puppet, costume and/or sign with words of encouragement for our turtle relatives.
The parade will proceed rain or shine! See you there.
Gather for Turtle Day at Colborne Lodge
Join us at Colborne Lodge Museum in High Park on Sunday, April 19 for a guided wetland tour at 1 pm and a fabric printing workshop from 2-5 pm.
Turtle Protectors and Grandmother Vivian Recollet will share Turtle stories while you learn about the importance of protecting local turtle habitats.
Then, you can make turtle themed prints from blocks carved by Clay and Paper or carve your own custom print using their tools!
Together, we'll create signs and bunting for the upcoming Turtles on the Move parade on April 25! You can also take home fabric prints to wear or carry in the parade.
This is a free event, all ages welcome and encouraged!

Join us on our Parade led by Grandmother Vivian Recollet. It will feature Turtle puppets made by Ange Loft (Kanien'kehá:ka), Shadowland Theatre, Clay and Paper Theatre, Indigenous Drummers and Singers, Maracatu Mar Aberto and volunteers from Turtle protection groups.
